Can India reach T20 World Cup 2026 semi finals?

Former Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir has said he does not expect India to reach the semi final of the T20 World Cup.

He added that he believes their batting is still a major problem in the tournament.

Speaking on a private TV programme, Amir shared his prediction for the teams that will qualify from the Super Eights stage. He named South Africa and the West Indies as his picks.

Amir further added that India’s batting has struggled in most matches except against Pakistan.

He said their batting collapse could hurt them again in the Super Eights stage and increase pressure on the team.

He added that both South Africa and the West Indies are playing strong cricket and can defeat any side.

Further, he praised the West Indies bowling attack and mentioned Gudakesh Motie, Akeal Hosein, Jason Holder and Shamar Joseph.

He also said that Sherfane Rutherford and Rovman Powell are powerful hitters who can trouble any opposition.

Talking about South Africa, Amir said their fast bowling is strong, their spin department is solid and their batting is in form.
