Indian President's helicopter gets stuck

PATHANAMTHITTA: Indian Air Force Helicopter carrying Indian President’s Droupadi Murmu got stuck in wet concrete at a makeshift helipad in Kerala’s Pathanamthitta district on Wednesday.

According to Indian media, the incident occurred moments after the President safely stepped out of the Indian Air Force (IAF) chopper.

The wheels of the aircraft reportedly sank into freshly laid concrete at a temporary helipad constructed overnight inside an indoor stadium complex.

Rescue teams and police personnel were seen manually pushing the aircraft to safety soon after the incident.

The incident has sparked questions over the IAF’s coordination and the state administration’s readiness in ensuring VVIP safety during high-profile visits and the state of their planes and helicopters.
