Along with the cricket affairs, the Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, is looking forward to addressing the issues of the national hockey team as well.
In a recent meeting with the national hockey team, Mohsin Naqvi, Chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), assured players of his full support and cooperation amid their concerns.
According to media reports, Naqvi confirmed that all issues faced by the national hockey team will be resolved promptly. He also stated that the team will be sent to participate in the upcoming Hockey World Cup Qualifier, with all expenses covered by the PCB.
The PCB Chairman further said that he will temporarily oversee all matters concerning hockey to ensure that the team faces no administrative hurdles. He clarified that there is no ban on the national team captain, Imad Shakeel Butt, and that no player’s name has been included in the ECL.
Naqvi assured that injured players will receive immediate attention from the PCB’s physiotherapist, and if necessary, arrangements will be made for treatment abroad. He also mentioned plans to appoint an international coach, and if the coach cannot come to Pakistan, the team may travel to Egypt for the qualifiers.
Additionally, the PCB Chairman emphasised that no former players or Olympians will be involved in the federation at this time.
This meeting comes as a boost to the national hockey team, ensuring administrative and logistical support ahead of a crucial international campaign.
