A new paid subscription model is being tested by Meta for Instagram. The new model introduced additional features, which include the ability to view stories without appearing on the viewer list.
This development was confirmed by the country to FOX local. The company stated that these tests began earlier this year in certain markets.
One of the main features of the new model is allowing users to watch Instagram stories anonymously.
This means that when viewers view a story their name will not show up to the story poster.
Several other tools are also included in the subscription. When using this model users will be able to make unlimited audience lists for stories other than just the close friends list.
It will also allow us to see how many times a story has been rewatched.
There are also additional features which include the ability to highlight one story per week, to send animated super hearts to show engagement, story visibility could be extended to another 24 hours.
People will also be able to search through the story’s list of viewers.
A spokesperson from Meta said that the company began testing the paid model in February in a limited number of countries.
The main goal of this model will be to enhance the way and explore how users can interact with the platform while keeping the main experience free.
The company explained that the reason why tests are being run is to gauge which premium features are being found most useful by the users.
However, it has not been revealed by Meta in which countries the new features are being tested.
Reports suggest they are taking place in Japan, Mexico and the Philippines
