The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are now available in Pakistan as PTA-approved, ready-to-use units, just days after their international launch.
The latest iPhones are being sold by companies that describe themselves as Apple distributors. In previous years, Pakistani buyers often had to wait months before PTA-approved iPhones became widely available after their global launch. This year, however, the latest models have reached the local market much earlier.
The early availability could put pressure on Pakistan’s grey and black market, where limited supplies of newly launched iPhones have often allowed sellers to set significantly higher prices.
Last week, non-PTA iPhone 18 Pro Max 256GB units were reportedly being sold for as much as Rs700,000 as some buyers were willing to pay a premium to get the latest model immediately.
The situation has now changed with PTA-approved units entering the market. The iPhone 18 Pro starts at around Rs565,000, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max starts at Rs605,000.
The most expensive iPhone 18 Pro Max variant currently available is the 2TB model, priced at around Rs1.115 million.
Apple’s first foldable iPhone, the iPhone Duo, is also expected to command a premium when it becomes available in Pakistan. Based on the current pricing of the latest Pro models, its price could reach around Rs1.4 million, although the actual local price is not yet known.
The arrival of PTA-approved iPhones so soon after their global launch could also put pressure on prices of non-PTA units. Sellers who previously benefited from limited availability may now have less room to charge large premiums.
The PTA-approved iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max are also available in Pakistan. Prices for the iPhone 17 Pro start at around Rs491,000, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max starts at around Rs535,000.
