Iqrar-ul-Hassan revealed that the name of his political movement will be disclosed on January 15. This signals the famous anchor’s entry into the political arena.

Addressing a youth audience, the private TV host discussed the political and developmental situation in Punjab.

He praised former Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif for implementing several development projects. And acknowledged the caretaker Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi for overseeing the construction of multiple underpasses.

He also recognised leaders like Maryam Nawaz for contributing to the province’s development.

‘I will never take any office in it’

Highlighting his vision for politics he said, “Political parties are not shops that transfer ownership after one person’s death. They are strong institutions.”

The anchor confirmed that the official registration process for his party will be announced in due course.

He emphasised that his political ambition is focused not on personal recognition. But on offering solutions to Pakistan’s pressing challenges through a new, dynamic political platform.

Responding to a social media post on X, formerly Twitter, about the launch og a new political party, Iqrar said, “This is an effort to create a national political party in Pakistan, run through internal elections. It will not be my party, and I will never take any office in it.”
