Iranian Central Bank Governor Dr Abdolnaser Hemmati met with Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar on Saturday, where both sides emphasised the importance of sustained and constructive negotiations.
According to a spokesperson for the Foreign Office, the meeting was held in Islamabad in a positive and cordial atmosphere. Both parties highlighted the need for continued dialogue and agreed that regional security and economic stability are essential for cooperation and shared progress.
Earlier, a high-powered delegation of Iran, led by Speaker of Iranian Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, along with Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, arrived in Islamabad to participate in the Islamabad Talks.
Upon arrival, the Iranian delegation was received by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar along with Speaker of the National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.
Ishaq Dar expressed the hope that parties would engage constructively. He reiterated Pakistan’s desire to continue facilitating the parties towards reaching a lasting and durable solution to the conflict.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday held a high-level meeting with an Iranian delegation during the Islamabad Talks, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to promoting regional peace and stability.
The Iranian delegation was led by Speaker of Iranian Parliament Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, accompanied by Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi. During the meeting, the prime minister appreciated Iran’s constructive engagement in the Islamabad Talks and underscored Pakistan’s sincere resolve to continue playing its role as a mediator.
