Iran has claimed responsibility for a drone attack on a US military base in Jordan. Iranian forces said they targeted the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Azraq.
Iran said the base was being used for air operations against it.
According to the Iranian military, multiple drones struck the base early Sunday, hitting logistics and supply warehouses used by US forces, as well as residential facilities.
Iranian officials described the Azraq base as one of the most important military sites in the region and a key hub for US operations in eastern Jordan.
They added that the base hosts fighter and transport aircraft and serves as a major command centre for operations against Iran.
