Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has claimed large-scale attacks towards 27 US military bases situated in the Middle East.
According to Iranian state media, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that the sixth phase of retaliatory actions has been launched in response to the bombings by the United States and Israel against Iran.
The statement stated that Iran fired dozens of missiles and drones at the military bases belonging to Israel, as well as US, in the region. The strikes were aimed at the military installations and command centres.
Iranian authorities declared that these operations will be continued in phases and even stronger measures will be taken in the future.
Israeli Military Major Centres Targeted
According to a report published by the Qatari news outlet Al Jazeera, together with the 27 US bases, important Israeli military sites were also targeted.
These include the Tel Nof Air Base, the central command headquarters of the Israeli military, the headquarters of the military’s High Command, the Hakirya Headquarters in Tel Aviv and a huge defence industrial complex, also in Tel Aviv.
Eyewitnesses’ accounts of hearing several explosions in Tel Aviv and clouds of smoke in some places.
Israeli officials have not immediately confirmed any major casualties; however, citizens have been told to stay in underground shelters.
Explosions in the Gulf Countries
According to Arab media reports, 11 explosions were heard in Doha capital of Qatar.
Security agencies cordoned off some places with increased aerial surveillance. Sources say attempts had been made to target US installations present in the region.
Iran’s Strong Warning
Iranian forces warned the attacks will be stronger and of a different nature.
The statement said that Iran will do everything necessary for its defence and sovereignty and will deliver a good response to the enemy.
So far neither the United States nor Israel has sent an official confirmation or detailed response to these attacks.
However, increasing tensions in the region have raised concern in the international community.
