A heated exchange and scuffle broke out between players from Iraq and Kuwait following the conclusion of their football match in the ongoing 27th Arabian Gulf Cup in Jeddah. Players from both teams were seen pushing and shoving each other as teammates and officials intervened to bring the situation under control.
Iraq secured a dramatic 3-2 victory over Kuwait. Zidane Iqbal opened the scoring for Iraq in the 52nd minute, before Kuwait’s Yousef Nasser equalised from the penalty spot in the 75th minute. Saif Rashid restored Iraq’s lead in the 83rd minute, but Nasser struck again in the 90th minute to level the score at 2-2.
Kuwait’s Abdulwahab Al-Awadhi was shown a red card and sent off during stoppage time. Moments later, Karrar Nabil scored a brilliant goal in added time to seal a dramatic victory for Iraq. As players were leaving the pitch after the final whistle, a heated exchange of words between players from both sides escalated into a scuffle involving pushing and shoving.
Iraq’s Aymen Hussein initially attempted to defuse the situation between Kuwait captain Yousef Nasser and Iraq’s Zidane Iqbal, but tensions soon escalated further.
