PSL player lands in trouble over traffic rules

Irfan Khan Niazi

Irfan Khan Niazi, a Pakistani cricketer, was caught on camera in a light-hearted but awkward traffic stop. He was pulled over by a warden for not wearing a seatbelt.

His younger brother was also involved in this viral incident. The video of the incident quickly made the rounds on the internet.

In the video, it could be seen that what was seen as a routine traffic check turned into a friendly cricket chat.

It can be seen in the clip that Irfan and his brother were stopped by the traffic warden for violating the traffic rules.

However, the interaction did not remain strictly official, it soon shifted towards Irfan’s performances for the Hyderabad Kingsmen in the 2026 Pakistan Super League 2026 (PSL 11)

The warden discussed Hyderabad’s run in their first PSL tournament with Irfan. The discussion included big sixes, playoffs and key moments involving Peshawar Zalmi’s Aaron Hardie and Abdul Samad’s knock in the final against Hyderabad.

The warden also talked about Hunain Shah’s dramatic final over in Eliminator 2. In that over Hyderabad defended six runs against Islamabad United.

The brothers tried to talk their way out of the challan, but the warden himself responded with humour asking how much Irfan earns for hitting sixes in the PSL.

After this the warden fined them each for Rs5000 and reminded them that traffic rules exist for their own safety.

After the fine Irfan and the warden shook hands and went their separate ways ending the exchange on a cordial note.

The video since the incident has gone very viral on the social media. Users have enjoyed a mix of law enforcement and cricket banter. Others also pointed out that celebrity culture does not excuse traffic violations.
