ISLAMABAD: The district administration has clarified that no roads have been blocked at any place in Islamabad and traffic is operating as normal. While notifications regarding local holidays are fake.
According to the administration, traffic is definitely slow due to obstacles at a few places, however, traffic flow is being ensured with the help of traffic police.
Responding to rumours of protest by the TLP and road closures in Islamabad, a spokesperson for the district administration said that normal life and business activities are continuing as usual in Islamabad and no protests are taking place anywhere.
The statement said that immediate action will be taken in case of any kind of protest or demonstration, as protests and demonstrations are banned in Islamabad under Section 144.
The district administration has appealed to the citizens to refrain from being a part of any illegal activity and support the administration in maintaining law and order.
Punjab Police had earlier clamped down on the TLP protestors in Muridkey after the miscreants burnt more than 40 government vehicles.
Panic had gripped the citizens of Islamabad after reports emerged on the social media that the religious party might be regrouping and planning a major nationwide protest. However the authorities have quelled any such notion.

SECURITY TIGHTENED IN ISLAMABAD
According to the spokesperson of the Islamabad Police, a heavy contingent of police has been deployed in high security zones. SSP Security Captain (retd) Zeeshan Haider said that the police are on alert to maintain law and order and are fully prepared to deal with any untoward incident.
He said that no miscreant will be allowed to disrupt law and order. Security has been tightened at sensitive places while police patrols have been increased.
According to the SSP Security, the security situation is being monitored with the help of modern technical means and Safe City cameras. Steps are being made more effective to ensure law and order in the capital.
FAKE NOTIFICATIONS
Fake notifications have started circulating on the social media regarding a three day local holiday in Islamabad and schools being closed from October 14-16.
According to authorities, the notifications are fake and no such orders have been issued.
