FM Ishaq Dar discusses regional situation with UK foreign secretary

The Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and the Foreign Minister (FM) of Pakistan, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, held a telephonic conversation with the Foreign Secretary of the United Kingdom (UK), Yvette Cooper.

In their conversation, they discussed the evolving regional situation.

Foreign Secretary Cooper reiterated the UK’s appreciation for Pakistan’s sustained efforts for peace and stability in the region.

She also appreciated Pakistan’s continued engagement in this regard.

DPM/FM ensured the foreign secretary of the UK that Pakistan will always be ready to promote dialogue, diplomacy, and constructive engagement.

Both of the leaders agreed to remain in close contact.

PM Shehbaz addresses federal meeting

The Prime Minister (PM) of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, on April 28, chaired a cabinet meeting.

PM Shehbaz said that he will continue his efforts to maintain peace in the region.

He also mentioned the role of Pakistan in de-escalating the tension between the US and Iran.

While talking about the Islamabad Talks, Shehbaz Sharif said, “The marathon talks between Iran and the US held in Islamabad on April 11 lasted for 21 hours and marked a significant diplomatic breakthrough.”

He added, “Pakistan made sincere and coordinated efforts for the success of the negotiations, with contributions from Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Foreign Minister (FM) of Pakistan, Ishaq Dar, and other senior officials.”

The Federal Government, on April 28, in a meeting, approved the first National Agriculture Biotechnology Policy and the National Seed Policy.

These policies were approved at a meeting of the Federal Cabinet chaired by the Prime Minister (PM) of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif, with the aim of significantly increasing agricultural production, ensuring food security and meeting modern requirements.

The meeting also approved the National Skills Development Policy under which special measures will be taken to provide international standard training and certification to Pakistanis going abroad.
