The Islamabad Police have issued special instructions to ensure smooth traffic flow in the capital during the New Year celebrations.
According to the Traffic Police, from 27th to 30th December, heavy vehicles coming from other cities will not be allowed to enter Islamabad between 3:00pm and 8:00pm.
Similarly, on 31st December, heavy vehicles such as trucks will be restricted from entering the city from 3:00pm to 12:00 midnight.
Police said the move aims to maintain traffic flow during New Year events in the city.
Several roads in Islamabad are currently under development, and previous reports of traffic jams have been recorded in the city for various reasons.
The Islamabad High Court imposed fines on the personnel of Islamabad police who conducted a raid in Lahore without arrest warrants and ordered strict disciplinary action against them for the illegal abduction of a woman and her three minor daughters.
