ISLAMABAD: In Islamabad’s I-8 sector, a man who assaulted a traffic police personnel and threatened him, has been arrested.
As per details, the incident occurred late Friday night when traffic officers stopped vehicle which was driven suspiciously.
The driver who was in an intoxicated state, came out of his car, pushed and slapped the officer, issued death threats and used used abusive language.
Islamabad Police spokesperson stated that the suspect has been identified and taken into custody. “The law is equal for all, no one is allowed to raise a hand against any police personnel,” the spokesperson added.
A case has been registered against the accused under charges of assault on a public servant and obstructing official duty. The suspect’s vehicle has been confiscated, and blood samples have been sent for testing to confirm alcohol or drug use.
CCPO Islamabad also took strict notice of the viral incident, saying, that “Misbehavior or violence against police officers will not be tolerated. Traffic wardens serve the public, attacking them equals to challenging state authority.”
