In order to facilitate the citizens, the Islamabad traffic police has introduced a 24 hour facility for those applying for or renewing their driving licences.
Islamabad Police has made the process easier by starting driving licence issuance and renewal services at 12 police stations. Officials said citizens can now apply for or renew their licences 24 hours a day, seven days a week at the following stations
Active centres include Faizabad Traffic Office, F-6 Facilitation Centre, Sawan Garden, Gulberg Green, Sector H-11, Bani Gala, Sector G-11 DC Office, and Sector G-14. Additional desks have been established at Khanna Police Station, Diplomatic Enclave, and Islamabad Chamber of Commerce.
Authorities stated that the aim is to facilitate citizens and reduce rush at central licensing offices. This will save time and allow people to handle licensing matters at their nearest police station.
Earlier, Islamabad Traffic Police formally launched the online e-learner’s permit service, enabling citizens to obtain a learner’s licence easily from home.
Chief Traffic Officer Captain (R) Hamza Humayun said Islamabad Police is continuing to introduce modern initiatives for public convenience.
Before this, the IG Islamabad had also extended the validity period for obtaining a driving licence by seven days from October 1st to October 7.
From October 8th onwards strict action will be taken against non-licenced drivers, which would include seizure of the vehicle, hefty fines and even jail time.
