Islamabad public holiday notification reissued after cancellation

ISLAMABAD: The Cabinet Division has issued a new notification on Thursday announcing a public holiday in Islamabad tomorrow (December 26).

This is the third time the notification regarding a public holiday in Islamabad has been issued on account of the arrival of UAE president  Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s visit.

As per the new notification, all federal government departments within the Islamabad Capital Territory will remain closed tomorrow with the exception of emergency series, hospitals, banks, police, essential services offices such was SNGPL, IESCO and water supply, MCCI and CDA.

The federal government has cancelled its earlier clarification notice and issued a new one announcing the local holiday in Islamabad tomorrow.  

UAE President’s visit

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is visiting Pakistan on Friday at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

This will be his first visit as President of the United Arab Emirates. He will arrive with a high-level delegation, including ministers and senior officials.

During the visit, he will meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Both leaders will review bilateral relations in detail.

They will also exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

The visit is seen as important for economic and diplomatic ties.
