ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad District Administration (DA) has confirmed that the situation in the federal capital remains completely normal, with all schools, markets, and businesses operating as usual.
Dismissing reports of closures or disruptions following a strike call by a religious party, the administration said that all essential services and urban activities are continuing without interruption, even as Section 144 remains in force across the city.
Reports suggesting a possible protest have circulated in some areas, but sources have confirmed that these claims are completely baseless.
Sources clarified that there is no protest activity or public gathering taking place, and the situation across the region remains calm and under control.
They further stated that there are no road blockages or traffic disruptions, and all routes are open for commuters as usual.
Officials shared footage from different areas showing commercial and institutional operations in full swing. Business activity in markets and shopping centres was reported to be normal, while educational institutions and public and private offices resumed regular schedules.
Responding to social media rumours about movement restrictions on main roads, the DA clarified that traffic is moving smoothly on all major routes, with all entry and exit points to Islamabad open.
The administration reiterated that Section 144 is still active, prohibiting all kinds of gatherings, protests, or processions within city limits.
In its statement, the DA warned that any illegal activity or unauthorised assembly will invite immediate legal action. The directive, it said, underscores the government’s commitment to maintaining order and ensuring full compliance with the law.
Religious groups, the business community, and members of civil society had rejected the strike call given by the religious party.
They stated that they will not take part in any activity that could disrupt law and order in connection with the strike planned for tomorrow.
