Islamabad roads to remain closed for one hour today, check advisory here

As Pakistanis across the country are observing Kashmir Solidarity Day today, several roads in Islamabad to remain closed for commuters.

The official traffic advisory has been issued by the Islamabad traffic police (ITP) on their official social media handles.

Diversions have been placed on main roads, including;

  1. Expressway
  2. Murree Road
  3. Club Road

Traffic pressure will increase on these roads

  1. Express Highway
  2. Faisal Avenue.

Adivisory for travellers

Travellers coming from Rawalpindi to Islamabad should use;

  1. Rawal Road Rawalpindi
  2. 9th Avenue
  3. Faqir Aapi Road
  4. Srinagar Highway.

Travellers going from Islamabad to Rawalpindi should use;

  1. Zero Point
  2. Srinagar Highway to Ninth Avenue.

Travellers coming and going between Murree/Bara Koh to Islamabad should use

  1. Korang Road
  2. Bhunngala
  3. Park Road
  4. Lehtrar Road

Travellers going from Serena, Bahria Town to Rawalpindi should use

  1. Park Road Khanna

Citizens can contact the Traffic Helpline 1915 or Police 15 for any updates. Officers of Islamabad Traffic Police will be present on the roads for the convenience of citizens.

Thousands turn out for Kashmir Solidarity rally in Islamabad

Tens of thousands of people in Islamabad turned out for a rally against India forces brutallities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

In connection with Kashmir Solidarity Day, a rally led by Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit Baltistan Amir Muqam was taken out in Islamabad.

It commenced from China Chowk and culminated at D-Chowk. The participants raised slogans in support of Kashmiri people. They also carried banners highlighting Indian atrocities against Kashmiri people.

Addressing the rally, Minister for Kashmir Affairs Amir Muqam said the large turnout of people from diverse segments of society underscores Pakistan’s unwavering support for its Kashmiri brothers and sisters in their legitimate struggle for the right to self-determination.

He paid tributes to the sacrifices of Kashmiri people, emphasising that the day is not far when their struggle will yield results. He said Pakistan will always advocate for the rights of Kashmiri people.

He urged the UN to implement its resolutions for the resolution of Jammu and Kashmir dispute as per the aspirations of Kashmiri people. He emphasised that resolution of the dispute is important for regional peace and security.

Kashmir Solidarity Day

Kashmir Solidarity Day is being observed today to express support for people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir in their just struggle for right to self-determination.

The day draws attention of the international community to the Indian atrocities in the Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

To mark the Day, solidarity walks, seminars, and exhibitions are being organised across Pakistan and Azad Jammu Kashmir.

One minute of silence was observed across the country at ten in the morning to pay homage to the martyrs of the Kashmir freedom movement.
