ISLAMABAD: As the UAE President is set to arrive on a high-profile visit to Pakistan today, the Islamabad police has issued a comprehensive traffic plan for the federal capital residents.
According to police spokesperson, the traffic plan will stay effective from 11 am to 3 pm in order to facilitate the Islamabad residents during the official visit.
As per the schedule, diversions will be placed on the Islamabad Expressway, Murree Road, and Club Road during these hours.
Traffic from Rawat towards the Expressway has been urged to use the Rawalpindi–Peshawar Road as an alternate route.
Bike riders travelling towards the Expressway from IJP Road and Srinagar Highway have been asked to use service roads and adjoining service lanes.
UAE President’s visit
UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan is visiting Pakistan on Friday at the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
This will be his first visit as President of the United Arab Emirates. He will arrive with a high-level delegation, including ministers and senior officials.
During the visit, he will meet Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Both leaders will review bilateral relations in detail.
They will also exchange views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
The visit is seen as important for economic and diplomatic ties.
Temporary closure announced in Islamabad’s airspace
The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) announced on Wednesday that there will be a temporary closure of Islamabad’s airspace today and tomorrow.
Flights arriving at and departing from Islamabad International Airport will be affected during specific hours, according to the PAA.
Passengers have been advised to check with their airlines for updated flight schedules and timings.
