In a post on X, the police said, “The series of arrivals and departures of foreign delegations continues. Traffic is being stopped at various times on Club Road, Margalla Road, and Express Highway. All routes to the Red Zone remain closed.”
“Citizens are requested to avoid unnecessary travel. Citizens are requested to exercise patience and forbearance. Cooperate with law enforcement agencies during diversions. Follow the Islamabad Traffic Police WhatsApp channel for city traffic updates. Additionally, guidance can also be obtained from the social media pages of Islamabad Police”, informed the citizens.
After the first round of peace talks concluded, United States (US) Vice President JD Vance said the talks ended without a deal because the Iranians did not accept a “final and best offer”.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry said no one expected the talks to succeed in one session. “Naturally, from the beginning, we should not have expected to reach an agreement in a single session. No one had such an expectation.”
Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said Islamabad would continue to facilitate peace talks between Iran and the US.
It is pertinent to mention that Jared Kushner and US Envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff departed Islamabad, and none of the US delegation stayed behind.
As of now, Vice President JD Vance has landed at Ramstein Air Base in Germany for a refuel stop on his way to the US.
