ISLAMABAD: An underage driver has crushed two women to death while speeding on the Constitution Avenue in Islamabad late Monday night.
According to the police, the accident was caused by a vehicle with the number plate AYE-379, which was being driven by 16 year old boy named Abuzar.
Eyewitnesses said that the vehicle was very fast and suddenly hit the scooter and fled. Rescue 1122 shifted the bodies to PIMS Hospital, where doctors confirmed the death of both the women.
The deceased women have been identified as 25 year old Samreen Hussain and her friend Tabinda Batool on the scooter. A case has been registered at Secretariat Police Station.

The police have taken possession of the vehicle and shifted it to Secretariat Police Station Islamabad. A case has been registered under sections 322, 279 and 427 of the IPC, which deal with culpable homicide not amounting to murder, negligent driving and causing damage to property.
According to the FIR, the vehicle was being used by an event management company, while the driver fled the scene. Police said they are searching for the driver with the help of CCTV footage and eyewitness statements.
“Action will be taken as per law and the person responsible will be arrested and produced before the court,” the investigating officer said.
According to sources, the underage driver is said to be the son of Justice Mohammad Asif of Islamabad High court.
