Islamabad United have pulled off a two-for-one deal with Multan Sultans just days ahead of the start of the Pakistan Super League 2026 season (PSL 11), strengthening their pace attack ahead of the tournament.
Under the deal Islamabad United have acquired fast bowlers Salman Mirza as well as Nisar Ahmad, and Multan Sultans, in return, have received a pacer Wasim Jr.
Although the transaction looks like a one for two swap on paper, it is essentially Islamabad gaining the extra depth in their squad by gaining a remarkable addition to their fast bowling attack.
Financial valuations attached to the trade present a better view of the exchange. Salman Mirza is listed at Rs3.92 crores and Nisar Ahmad comes at Rs0.60 crores.
Together, the two players are worth a total value of Rs4.52 crores for Islamabad United.
In comparison, Wasim Jr, the player who is going to Multan Sultans, is listed at Rs4.1 crore. Based on these numbers Islamabad United come out with a slight upper hand in overall value in that they gain approximately Rs. 0.42 crore by the transaction.
Meanwhile, Multan seems to have favoured consolidating their resources around one higher-valued pace option as they keep trying to shape their squad for this up-and-coming season.
The trade is part of an active pre-season window where a number of franchises have been adjusting their line-ups ahead of the competition beginning.
Multan Sultans were also involved in another important trade earlier and completed a four-player exchange with Quetta Gladiators.
In the deal Sultans took Ahmed Daniyal and Jahanzaib Sultan, and Quetta took Faisal Akram and Arafat Minhas.
The upcoming edition of the Pakistan Super League season is slated to run from March 26 to May 3, and would mark a historic milestone for the tournament, as for the first time the tournament will have 8 teams.
