Web desk: Examinations scheduled at several major universities in Islamabad have been postponed following the closure of Shaheen Chowk due to the ongoing construction work on an underpass, on Friday. The work is causing inconvenience in travelling for everyone.
Islamabad universities exams postponed
Students of Bahria University and Air University received text messages from their administrations informing them that exams planned for December 27 and 28 have been deferred.
According to the notifications, limited access around Shaheen Chowk due to construction activity prompted the decision.
The universities said revised exam dates will be announced later through the respective departments.
However, no formal public notices have been issued by the institutions. The lack of an official notice has led the students to confusion among candidates.
Many students have voiced frustration over the last-minute postponement. They say it has affected their exam preparation and may delay semester schedules and breaks.
The disruption coincides with the final phase of construction on the Shaheen Chowk underpass. Which is located at the intersection of 9th Avenue and Khyaban-i-Iqbal.
The project has resulted in prolonged traffic diversions and restricted movement in the area.
Earlier this week, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the site and instructed the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to expedite the remaining work.
Officials said the main structure has been completed. While road carpeting and finishing touches are still in progress.
The underpass is expected to be inaugurated next week and is intended to ease traffic congestion along one of Islamabad’s busiest routes
