US journalist suggests Pakistan is preparing to host US Iran talks
The development comes after the US journalist Michael Kugelman claimed that Islamabad has been stepping up efforts to host US Iran negotiations.
In a post on X, Kugelman said Pakistan has recently been pitching itself as a mediator, noting that Washington had previously praised Islamabad’s willingness to play a role in facilitating dialogue between the US and Iran.
Earlier, Iran rejected recent statements by US President Donald Trump regarding alleged talks between Tehran and Washington stating that the claims were aimed at reducing global energy prices and buying time to pursue military plans.
According to Iranian media, the Foreign Ministry firmly said that no negotiations were taking place between Iran and the United States.
The ministry further asserted that Trump’s comments are intended to influence energy markets while creating strategic time for advancing military objectives.
