The bus terminals in Faizabad Islamabad have been closed since last night causing a wave of concern amongst the citizens.
The closure has given rise to rumours mills on the social media of possible security threat in Islamabad and its adjoining areas.
Putting the rumours to rest, police sources have refuted social media claims that there is any imminent security threat in Islamabad.
Bus stops have not been closed due to security concerns, but only for violation of SOPs, police sources said.
According to Islamabad Police, bus terminals that are not registering on the provided software and walk-through gates are not installed are being closed.
The terminals will be restored immediately as soon as the walk-through gate, 6-8 feet safe passage and body searching with metal detectors begin.
Owners can open their bus terminals within an hour after completing the SOPs, the police have said.
