They extended their greetings to all Pakistanis, marking the occasion of Eid ul-Fitr at the end of Ramadan.

The armed forces said the spirit of Eid, for them, is linked to serving and protecting the country, often while being away from their families.
Tribute to martyrs
The message also paid tribute to military personnel for their role in maintaining peace and security, and those who were martyred for protecting their motherland.
It acknowledged the sacrifices made by both serving members and their families, describing their support as an important part of national service.
The armed forces expressed hope that the occasion would bring peace, prosperity and blessings for Pakistan and the wider Muslim community.
Operation Ghazab-Lil-Haq
Pakistan launched Operation Ghazab lil-Haq in late February 2026 while responding to the cross-border attacks from Afghanistan.
According to media reports, the operation began on February 26-28, 2026, targeting militant positions and infrastructure across the border.
Pakistani authorities said the action was a response to “unprovoked firing” and attacks linked to militant groups operating from Afghan territory.
The operation involved air and ground strikes in several areas, including Kabul, Kandahar and border provinces.
Temporary pause during Eid
In a recent development, Pakistan announced a temporary pause in the operation during Eid ul-Fitr.
Officials said the pause would run from March 19 to March 24, 2026, describing it as a goodwill gesture following requests from countries including Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkiye.
However, authorities also stated that operations could resume immediately if new attacks occur.
