Web desk: US President Donald Trump said that Israel has agreed to an initial withdrawal line as part of ongoing negotiations with Hamas, calling it a step toward ending what he described as a “3,000-year catastrophe.”
In a post on the social media platform Truth Social, the US President Donald Trump stated that the agreed withdrawal line had already been shown and shared with Hamas.
He added that once Hamas confirms, a ceasefire will take effect immediately. According to US President Trump, the agreement would also trigger the start of a hostage and prisoner exchange, with further withdrawals to follow in later stages.
“When Hamas confirms, the Ceasefire will be IMMEDIATELY effective, the Hostages and Prisoner Exchange will begin, and we will create the conditions for the next phase of withdrawal, which will bring us close to the end of this 3,000 YEAR CATASTROPHE,” Trump wrote in his social media post regarding the matter.
The President urged the public to “stay tuned,” signalling that further announcements are expected as talks continue.
This statement marks one of the most direct indications yet that the negotiations may be reaching a turning point, with Washington playing a central role in pushing both sides toward a deal.
If confirmed, the agreement would represent a significant step toward de-escalation of the conflict.

Trump set a deadline of 6pm US Eastern time (22:00 GMT) on Sunday. Warning that failure to reach a deal would lead to an escalation in the conflict.
“If this LAST CHANCE agreement is not reached, all HELL, like no one has ever seen before, will break out against Hamas. THERE WILL BE PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EAST ONE WAY OR THE OTHER,” he declared in a lengthy post of 329 words.
According to US officials, the Trump administration had earlier presented the plan to a group of Arab and Muslim leaders. During meetings on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in September.
