Israeli forces detain Saad Edhi during Gaza aid mission

Israeli forces have detained Saad Edhi along with dozens of other activists during an international mission attempting to deliver humanitarian aid to Palestinians in Gaza Strip.

According to reports, Saad Edhi was part of the Global Samad Flotilla, an aid convoy trying to deliver relief supplies to Gaza amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis.

Before being taken into custody, Saad Edhi released an emergency video statement in which Israeli military personnel could reportedly be seen approaching and carrying out the operation.

The mission was organised to provide humanitarian assistance and support to Palestinians affected by the conflict in Gaza.

Further details regarding the condition and legal status of those detained have not yet been officially confirmed.

Faisal Edhi’s son Saad Edhi along with more than 500 workers from different countries of the world, which comprise the Global Samad Flotilla, set off from Marmaris, Turkiye for Gaza, reported a news channel.

The Global Samad Flotilla and the Edhi Foundation aimed to provide humanitarian aid in Gaza.

On behalf of the Edhi Foundation, Saad Edhi completed the purchase of rations, dry rations, medicines, baby formula milk and other humanitarian necessities from Marmaris, Turkiye for the people of Gaza in the last 4 to 5 days.

This peaceful mission of the Edhi Foundation is to deliver this aid to the people of Gaza through the Global Samad Flotilla.
