Embassy of Italy in Pakistan has announced a new scholarship opportunity for Pakistani students, offering 15 scholarships for international applicants for the 2026–2027 academic year.

The program is being offered in collaboration with Università degli Studi “G. d’Annunzio” Chieti-Pescara and INGENIUM European University, to promote higher education and international academic exchange.

According to the announcement, a total of 15 scholarships will be awarded, including five specifically reserved for students enrolling in joint programs or INGENIUM pathway courses.

The scholarships are part of a broader effort to attract talented international students, including those from Pakistan, and provide them with opportunities to study in Italy’s leading academic institutions.

Officials said the initiative shows Italy’s commitment to strengthening educational ties and supporting students through accessible and high-quality learning programmes.

Students interested in applying are encouraged to review eligibility criteria and submit their applications within the specified deadlines set by the participating institutions.

Pakistani students who wish to study abroad in Europe can now apply for the Italy’s prestigious Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MAECI) Scholarship for the 2026-27 studies. The fully funded program is a great way for students to study at some of Italy’s most famous universities in a country with a rich academic and cultural heritage.

The MAECI Scholarship is aimed at reinforcing international academic cooperation and to promote the study of the Italian language and culture. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to enrol in leading public institutions like the University of Bologna, Sapienza University of Rome and Politecnico di Milano – universities with the academic excellence and reputation of a global university.

Under the 2026-27 scheme of scholarships, the amount of EUR900 (monthly stipend) will be given to cover recipient’s living expenses. In addition, students would also benefit from full exemption from tuition and enrollment fees at public universities, although there may be minor regional or administrative charges.

The program also covers full health and accident insurance coverage. Scholarships are for three, six or nine months and sometimes can be renewed for longer degree programs, depending on academic performance and program requirements.

Eligibility criteria are different for different programs. Applicants to a master’s degree need to be younger than 28 and have a relevant bachelor’s degree. PhD candidates must be under 30, must have a master’s degree, and have an acceptance letter from an Italian university. For supervised research projects, the maximum age is 40.
