Jeff Bezos predicts humans will build homes in space by 2050

Jeff Bezos

American billionaire businessman, Jeff Bezos has made a big prediction.

At an event in Italy, he claimed that millions of people will live in space in couple of decades.

He also predicted that gigawatt-scale data centres will be built in space within the next 10 to 20 years.

Bezos said the shift to space infrastructure is part of a broader trend of using space to improve life on Earth.

Jeff Bezos is not only a founder of Amazon but also Blue Origin, a Astronautics company.

New project by Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin

Currently, preparations for the second-ever launch of Blue Origin’s powerful New Glenn rocket are underway on Florida’s Space Coast.

Additionally, NASA and Blue Origin are reopening media accreditation for the launch of the agency’s ESCAPADE (Escape and Plasma Acceleration and Dynamics Explorers) mission. The twin ESCAPADE spacecraft will study the solar wind’s interaction with Mars, providing insight into the planet’s real-time response to space weather and how solar activity drives atmospheric escape.

It is pertinent to mention that earlier Elon Musk said that humanity can get a sustainable, self-sufficient Mars settlement up and running by 2055.

Musk has one particular rocket in mind to make this Red Planet dream come true, SpaceX’s Starship.

The vehicle is still under development. It has flown in a fully stacked configuration 10 times to date.
