WEB DESK: As job seekers across Pakistan are eying opportunities to move abroad, Germany has opened high-paying jobs for green passport holders.
As per details, the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment (BEOE) stated that there are opportunities in Germany for qualified Pakistani professionals.
The jobs have been announced for Pakistani nationals at a time when Germany is facing a severe shortage of nurses across the country.
The BEOE advisory stated that skilled Pakistanis with verified documents can fill these jobs in Germany if they meet the required process and qualifications mentioned by German authorities.
The Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment said that job seekers should get their educational and professional credentials recognised by German institutions.
Italy offers 10,500 jobs for Pakistani workers
Earlier, Italy announced job offers for Pakistan. More than 10,000 jobs will be provided to Pakistani workers.
An agreement was signed between Pakistan and Italy officials, and a labour quota has been allocated for Pakistan.
According to this agreement, Pakistani workers will be able to secure 10,500 jobs over the next three years.
This will be a yearly recruitment process through which 3,500 employees will be selected each year.
Official figures show decline in Pakistanis leaving for overseas jobs
According to official figures, the number of Pakistanis leaving the country for employment abroad has dropped significantly in 2025.
Government data shows that more than 41,000 fewer Pakistanis went overseas for work this year compared to last year.
A report by the Protectorate of Emigrants states that during the first eleven months of 2025, a total of 686,292 Pakistanis traveled to different countries in search of jobs.
In the same period last year, the number was 727,391. This shows a clear decline in overseas employment trends over the past year.
Provincial figures
The report also highlights provincial figures, stating that 52,449 people from Sindh went abroad for work during this period. This also includes Karachi.
The number of Pakistanis choosing the United States as a work destination remained very low. This is with only 899 individuals recorded.
