Journalists on Monday staged a walk out of the National Assembly over the alleged misbehaviour by Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan with a fellow journalist.
The protest began right at the start of the session chaired by National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, in reaction to the alleged incident involving PTI founder Imran Khan and senior journalist Ijaz Ahmed.
The alleged misbehaviour with senior journalist Ijaz Ahmed prompted the Parliamentary Reporters Association (PRA) of Pakistan to stage a mass walkout from the National Assembly session.
Speaking to media, Ijaz Ahmed claimed that Imran Khan abused him when he asked a question.
Later, during the session, National Assembly Speaker Sardar Ayaz Sadiq directed Federal Law Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar to hold talks with the PRA to bring the journalists back to the house.
Earlier Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister (CM) Ali Ameen Gandapur had said that Imran Khan had expressed anger and disappointment over the poor arrangements and mismanagement at the Peshawar rally.
He claimed that the party chairman ordered to identify the elements who were responsible for the disorder and mismanagement.
Gandapur said that the PTI Chairman was also disappointed over the low attendance of workers from Punjab in the rally, for which the Punjab leadership is responsible, and they would submit their explanation to the PTI founder.
