Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Monday visited former Pakistan cricket team captain and star all-rounder Shahid Afridi at his residence, marking a notable meeting between the political and sports spheres.
Afridi shared glimpses of the meeting on social media, posting pictures from the visit and expressing his appreciation for the interaction. He described the occasion as a joy and an honour for his family to host the JUI chief.
According to Afridi, the meeting provided an opportunity for a warm and meaningful conversation. He also extended his gratitude to Maulana Fazlur Rehman for what he called a memorable and pleasant visit.

It is worth mentioning here that Former Pakistan cricket team captain and Test cricketer Shahid Khan Afridi had expressed hope for the success of the Islamabad talks before the start of the discussion between the US and Iran delegations.
In a statement shared on the social media platform X, he said that history is written when dialogue begins.
Afridi noted that the meeting between the Iranian and American delegations in Pakistan is a decisive moment that could open new pathways to peace following recent tensions.
The former captain added that he prays wisdom prevails, differences are reduced, and a renewed hope for peace emerges from the Islamabad talks.
