Kabul Has Become India’s Proxy: Defence Minister

Web desk: Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, in a statement released on X, said that since the Taliban came to power in 2021, Pakistan has made continuous efforts for peace and stability, but there has been no positive response from the Kabul government.

In his tweet, Khawaja Asif shared details of Pakistan’s diplomatic and security-level activities, sacrifices and stance.

The Defence Minister said in his statement that the current rulers of Kabul, who used to take refuge on Pakistani soil in the past, are now conspiring against Pakistan in collaboration with India.

According to him, Pakistan can no longer afford to maintain relations with Kabul as in the past.

Khawaja Asif clarified that Pakistan’s land and resources belong to 250 million Pakistanis, so the forced hospitality that has been going on for five decades must end now.

The Defence Minister further said that independent nations do not thrive on foreign lands and resources; now there will be no protest letters and appeals for peace, nor will any government delegation go to Kabul.

He also said that wherever the source of terrorism is, it will have to pay a heavy price for it.

The Defence Minister said that during the last five years, Pakistan has taken several steps for dialogue and cooperation with Afghanistan.

Including four visits to Kabul by the Foreign Minister, two by the Defence Minister and ISI, five by the Special Representative, five by the Secretary and one by the National Security Advisor.

In addition, eight Joint Coordination Committee meetings, 225 border flag meetings, 836 protest letters and 13 demarches were also conducted.

He said that Pakistan has paid a heavy price in the war on terrorism.

Since 2021, 10,347 incidents of terrorism have taken place, in which 3,844 Pakistani citizens, soldiers and law enforcement officials have been martyred.

Khawaja Asif said that despite our five years of efforts and sacrifices, there has been no positive response from Kabul.

According to him, Afghanistan has now become a proxy for India, and this war of terrorism has been imposed on Pakistan by India, Afghanistan and the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
