Kamala Harris, Former United States Vice President and the democratic nominee for the Presidency in 2024 said on Friday that it is being considered by her to run for President again in 2028.
Harris, was making an appearance in the meeting of the National Action Network which is a civil rights organisation founded by Reverend AL Sharpton.
Sharpton directly asked her if she would run again to which she replied, “I might, I might. I’m thinking about it, I’m thinking about it.”
After she said this the crowd at the New York City event cheered in response.
She said that it might be a possibility that she runs for President of America in 2028.
Kamala Harris lost the 2024 Presidential elections to Donald Trump. Donald Trump won both the electoral college and the popular vote.
Kamala Harris served as the Vice President under the President Joe Biden.
Before that Harris had served as a US senator and as attorney general for California. She had also held other offices at different times.
She had also made an unsuccessful run in 2020 to be the Democratic Party’s Presidential nominee but lost to Joe Biden.
If Kamala Harris runs again in 2028 it can be a problem for the democratic party as it has been indicated in the polling that the voters want to see new leaders of the Democratic Party following her loss to Trump.
The convention of National Action Network drew several Democratic candidates. It included Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker, former Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and some other high profile individuals were also involved.
