Karachi 9th and 10th students have been issued new directives as the Karachi Commissioner has imposed Section 144 ahead of the upcoming matric exams.
As per details, section 144 has been enforced around all exam centers to prevent cheating and ensure transparency in the examination process.
The notification prohibits gatherings within 200 yards of exam centers from April 7 to May 2, 2026. Unauthorized individuals will not be allowed inside exam premises, and the use of mobile phones and electronic devices is completely banned.
Photocopy machines and the display of weapons are also strictly prohibited. Police have been instructed to take legal action against anyone violating Section 144.
Over 385,000 students are set to appear at 530 exam centers across Karachi, with strict security measures in place to ensure fair and smooth conduct of the exams.
Karachi board issues 9th, 10th class admit cards for exams
The admit cards for the 9th and 10th board examinations have been uploaded on the official website of the Board of Secondary Education Karachi (BSEK). Students and educational institutions can easily download their admit cards from the website.
The Chairman of the matriculation board of Karachi, Ghulam Hussain Soho, has formally announced the holding of the ninth and tenth grade annual examinations 2026.

The examinations will begin on April 7, in which a total of 358,000 candidates participate.
Chairman Soho said that the examinations will be held in two shifts. One in the morning, and the other in the afternoon.
In the morning shift, the science group papers will be held from 9:30 AM to 12:30 pm.
In the afternoon shift, the general group, that is, the regular and private group examinations, will be held from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM.
Ghulam Hussain Soho further informed that the admit cards of all the candidates have been uploaded on the official website of the Board of Secondary Education Karachi.
The board administration has assured the implementation of Section 144 at the examination centres and strict arrangements to prevent cheating.
In other security measures, the entry of unauthorised persons into the examination centres will be prohibited.
All types of gatherings will be prohibited within 200 yards of the examination centres, and the use of mobile phones inside and outside the examination centres will also be prohibited.
The use of photocopy machines and electronic devices has also been banned. There will be a complete ban on displaying weapons. Action will be taken against violators, according to the reports.
Sindh matric and intermediate exams schedule 2026
Board exams for classes 9 to 12 will start from April 7 in most parts of Sindh.
In Karachi, exams for classes 9 and 10 will begin on April 7. Intermediate exams will start on April 25.
In Sukkur, Matric exams will start earlier on March 30, followed by Intermediate exams from April 15.
