Gas loadshedding is affecting several parts of Karachi, with domestic consumers facing supply interruptions at different times of the day.
Under the current gas loadshedding schedule, consumers in several localities are receiving gas for limited periods, while supply remains suspended during morning, evening and overnight hours.
Karachi gas loadshedding timings
According to the gas loadshedding schedule, supply interruptions are expected during the following periods:
- 10 am to 12 pm
- 3 pm to 6 pm
- 10 pm to 5:30 am
Gas supply is expected to resume outside these gas loadshedding hours, including during the early morning, midday and evening periods.
Areas affected by gas loadshedding
The gas loadshedding schedule covers several areas of Karachi, including Federal B Area, North Nazimabad, Malir, Khokhrapar, Landhi, Orangi Town and North Karachi.
Residents of Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Nazimabad, Garden and Liaquatabad have also reported disruptions in gas supply.
Consumers have been advised to arrange cooking and other household activities according to the gas loadshedding timings, as supply may vary from one locality to another.
How will the new charges be calculated?
Under the revised tariff, residential water and sewerage charges will be linked to the size of the residential plot.
As a result, households with larger plots will pay different monthly charges compared with those occupying smaller properties.
With gas loadshedding continuing in several parts of the city and water and sewerage charges also rising, Karachi residents are facing higher costs and disruptions to essential household services.
