The arrival of teams in Karachi for PSL 11 matches has begun, with the Peshawar Zalmi and Hyderabad Kingsmen teams reaching the Quaid-e-Azam city. Practices for the league matches will start on Friday.
According to details, Karachi will host 22 matches of PSL 11. The first match is scheduled between Hyderabad Kingsmen and Peshawar Zalmi on April 8, followed by double-header matches on April 9.
The defending champions, Lahore Qalandars, will face Islamabad United at 2:30 pm, while the second match of the day will be between Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi at 7 pm.
Meanwhile, the Peshawar Zalmi and Hyderabad Kingsmen teams arrived in Karachi on Wednesday to participate in the tournament. Team practices will begin at the National Stadium on Friday.
On the first day, Peshawar Zalmi and Hyderabad Kingsmen will conduct practice sessions at the Hanif Muhammad Regional Cricket Academy Ground and the Oval Ground from 12:30 pm to 3 pm. However, rainwater accumulated at the National Stadium following Thursday’s rain, and the administration is making urgent efforts to drain it. If it rains again, the teams’ practice sessions are likely to be affected.
On the other hand, in an impressive display of batting, Islamabad United secured a commanding 8-wicket victory over Quetta Gladiators in the ninth match of PSL Season 11 at Gaddafi Stadium.
Chasing a competitive target of 184 runs, Islamabad United showed composure and confidence as they reached the total with 10 balls to spare. The chase was anchored by an unbeaten knock from opener Sameer Minhas, who smashed 82 runs and remained not out till the end.
Captain Shadab Khan led from the front with a brilliant innings of 69 not out, providing strong support to Minhas and ensuring there were no late hiccups in the chase. Earlier in the innings, Devon Conway contributed 18 runs before being dismissed.
For Quetta Gladiators, Abrar Ahmed was the standout bowler, claiming two wickets, but his efforts were not enough to stop Islamabad’s dominant batting lineup. The victory adds important points to Islamabad United’s campaign, highlighting their strong form and batting depth in the tournament.
