Power supply to various areas of Karachi will be suspended in the name of repair work on Saturday, which may last up to 15 hours.
Power supply will be cut off on 44 feeders of K-Electric from morning to evening, power outage has been announced on the feeders for 12 hours.
Power outage in the name of repair will be done in addition to the load shedding schedule, the work may be done for a period of up to 15 hours, millions of citizens will be deprived of power for 12 hours from Saturday morning.
Liaqatabad, Malir, Landhi, Korangi, Orangi, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, Gulshan-e-Iqbal, FB Area, North Karachi, Defense, Shah Faisal, Norris Chowrangi, Khawaja Ajmer Nagri, Godhra and industrial feeders will be closed.
Gas shutdown announced
On the other hand, Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) will stop supplying gas to all industries on Saturday and Sunday, while all CNG stations in the city will also be closed for 2 days.
In a statement on Friday, SSGC spokesperson Salman Ahmed Siddiqui said that the company is working to stabilise and maintain gas pressure as demand rises sharply during winter.
He further explained that there is a higher domestic usage that has led the company to prioritise household and commercial consumers.
