Karachi weather expected to get colder

Web desk: The Meteorological Department has forecast that cold winds will begin blowing in Karachi from December 8. These winds may increase the chill in the city.

According to the department, a western weather system is affecting the northern areas of the country and parts of Balochistan.

Due to this system, the temperature in Karachi is expected to drop by one to two degrees from Tuesday. The weather may feel cooler as a result.

The Chief Meteorologist in Karachi said that the cold conditions in Balochistan caused by the western system can also influence Karachi.

Northeastern winds from Balochistan may make the city feel colder for most of the time.

He said that there is no chance of an intense cold wave in Karachi until mid December.

The minimum temperature may remain between 12 and 14 degrees Celsius, and the maximum temperature may stay between 27 and 29 degrees Celsius.

The Chief Meteorologist added that the western wind system entering the country is not expected to bring rain to Karachi at the moment.

Lahore Weather

Previously, the Punjab capital breathed a little easier after a small decrease in air pollution.

However, Lahore still ranks among the most polluted cities in the world.

Latest global data shows that Lahore is placed at number four, with a heavy layer of smog covering the city as winter begins.

The overall Air Quality Index in the city was recorded at 193, which is considered harmful.

The Timber Market area again reported the worst air quality with an AQI of 941.

The Sessions Courts also remained highly polluted with an AQI of 644. The FC College area showed a hazardous level of 550.

Officials say these readings are the result of weak winds and increasing cold, which trap smog in the air.

Along with the pollution, the weather also turned colder. Lahore woke up to a sharp drop in temperature.
