The Meteorological Department says a new western weather system will affect the country in the coming days.
This system is expected to bring intermittent rain to Karachi on Eid, helping break the heat wave.
Rains are also expected in various districts of the Sindh province from March 17 to March 27.
Meteorologists have said that the effects of the system will make the weather pleasant in most parts of the country.
Rain, snow expected ahead of Eid ul Fitr
As Eid ul Fitr nears, cold weather is expected in parts of Pakistan. Rain, hail, and snowfall have been predicted in several regions.
The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said rain and snowfall are likely to continue in northern areas until March 16.
The authority has urged the public to stay cautious. It has also warned that changing weather could increase the risk of avalanches, landslides, and travel problems.
In a special advisory, an NDMA spokesperson asked local administrations and relevant departments to remain prepared and alert.
Officials have also warned that this spell of rain and snow could raise the risk of flooding and landslides in mountainous areas.
The NDMA has also cautioned that the possibility of glacial lake outburst floods could increase. This can be extra risks for communities in vulnerable regions.
