The Karachi Traffic Police has issued a traffic management plan for the main Youm e Ali 2026 procession that will take place in Karachi on March 11, which is also falling on the 21st of the Holy month of Ramzan.
The day marks the martyrdom anniversary of Ali ibn Abi Talib (AS). It is observed across Pakistan with mourning processions, religious gatherings, and security arrangements.

In Karachi, the main procession will start at 1 PM from Nishtar Park. It will pass through its traditional route and will end at Imambargah Hussainia Iranian in Kharadar.
Traffic officials said several important roads will remain closed during the procession. The decision was taken to make sure of the security and to allow smooth movement for participants.
MA Jinnah Road will remain closed from Guru Mandir to Tower. Corridor Three from Saddar Dawakhana to Regal Chowk will also stay closed for traffic.
The traffic police have also announced several diversions for commuters.
Vehicles coming from District Central will be diverted from Lasbela towards Nishtar Road and Garden.
Traffic from Liaquatabad will be redirected from Guru Mandir towards Lasbela and Garden.
People travelling from Hasan Square to People’s Chowrangi have been advised to use alternative routes. These include New MA Jinnah Road, Jail Flyover, Teen Hatti and Nishtar Road.
Traffic on Shahrah e Quaideen will not be allowed beyond the Society Light Signal.
Authorities also announced arrangements for vehicles related to the procession. Vehicles carrying special passes will be allowed entry from the Society Light Signal.
Vehicles bringing Niaz and Sabeel will be allowed through the MA Jinnah Road near Tower.
Traffic police officials said personnel will remain deployed at major diversion points and alternate routes. They will guide commuters and help maintain traffic flow in the city during the procession.
