Karoline Leavitt, the White House press secretary, announced on Instagram that she and her family have welcomed a baby girl, Viviana, lovingly called “Vivi,” who was born on Friday, May 1. Leavitt shared that her daughter is healthy and perfect. Baby Vivi has also become the younger sister of Leavitt’s son with her husband, Nicholas Riccio.
Leavitt revealed that she quietly welcomed her daughter earlier this month and said the family is now happily settling into life with a newborn.
“On May 1st, Viviana aka ‘Vivi’ joined our family, and our hearts instantly exploded with love,” Leavitt wrote in a social media post. “She is perfect and healthy, and her big brother is joyfully adjusting to life with his new baby sister. We are enjoying every moment in our blissful newborn bubble.”
She also thanked everyone who supported her during her pregnancy through prayers and kind messages.
“I truly felt them throughout the entire experience. God is Good,” she added.
Leavitt had started her maternity leave in late April. However, she briefly returned to the White House briefing room on April 27 to address the shooting incident linked to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
