Kasim Khan shares Imran Khan is left with only 15 percent vision

Kasim Khan, the son of former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan, said on Thursday that his father has suffered significant vision loss in his right eye, retaining only 15% of his sight.

He stated that his father had been kept for 922 days of solitary confinement and purported medical neglect while incarcerated.

He claims that the family is being refused visas to Imran Khan, and calls upon international organizations to intervene.

In a post on X, Kasim wrote, “My brother and I are still being denied visas to see our father as his health deteriorates. History will record this injustice.

“We urge human rights bodies, legal institutions, and democratic nations to confront this persecution and ensure those responsible face consequences” , he continued.

His attorney, Salman Safdar, who was granted permission to see his client in prison this week, stated that the former cricketer started to suffer from blurred and unclear vision three to four months prior.

However, despite informing the prison superintendent, no measures were implemented beyond providing him with eye drops, according to Safdar.

The officials had earlier verified that Khan underwent a 20-minute medical procedure on January 24 at PIMS hospital in Islamabad, during which Minister Ata Tarar remarked that Khan was “well and in good health.”

Imran Khan eye condition

Safdar, who was the first visitor to Khan in seven weeks, reported that his client’s condition was identified as a blood clot in his right eye, resulting in significant damage that has left him with impaired vision.

On Tuesday, he submitted a report outlining Khan’s condition to Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi and Justice Shahid Bilal Hasan.

According to Safdar, Khan was left “visibly perturbed and deeply distressed by the loss of vision and the lack of timely and specialized medical care.”

He requested that his client be evaluated by a team of expert ophthalmologists, be allowed to see his family, and have improved prison conditions.

The court decided that Khan should be permitted to consult with his personal physicians in Adiala Jail, where he is currently held, and be allowed to make phone calls to his sons, Kasim and Sulaiman.
