Pakistani cinema fans finally have their first look at Bilal Ashraf and Maya Ali’s upcoming action film Khan Tumhara, with the film’s intense teaser released this week.
The released teaser maintained its focus on the character of Bilal Ashraf, ‘Yusuf Khan’. Moreover, only a glimpse of Maya Ali was briefly seen in the teaser firing a rifle, hinting that she may have a much stronger role than the typical love interest character.
Directed by Ehteshamuddin, the film is produced by Momina Duraid, Ehteshamuddin, and Bilal Ashraf. Furthermore, the screenplay has been written by Mustafa Afridi.
A powerful teaser having a dark hero vibe of ‘Bilal Ashraf’
The teaser starts with the introduction of ‘Yusuf Khan’, Bilal Ashraf’s role in the movie walking through snowy, icy terrain. In addition, a narrator speaks about hardship and injustice.
The voiceover declares:
“The pharaohs of our time wear but a single face, a face I am sworn to recognise. I will find them and I will rise up. And I will walk the sacred line decreed by God. My name is Yusuf Khan, this is my story.”

International action crew and intense filming
According to Variety, the production brought in an international action team led by Nick Khan (Eternals) and Hussain Abdullah (Skyfall).
The publication also reported that:
“Ashraf performed his own stunts… sustaining multiple injuries during filming.”
Director Ehteshamuddin spoke passionately about the film’s gritty tone:
“For years, Pakistani cinema has flirted with action but we have never truly let it bleed. Khan Tumhara is our answer to that hesitation.”
Bilal Ashraf added:
“This was more than a film; it was a lifetime education in the craft, paid for with blood, sweat and tears… This journey is dedicated to my late mother and sister.”
Cast reactions and production vision
Producer Momina Duraid said her film offers “a mix of action, romance and comedy… full family entertainment for all age groups.”
Maya Ali shared her excitement, saying:
“Some projects truly stay close to your heart. Khan Tumhara is one of them… It’s been an honour working with Ehtesham Bhai and the amazing Bilal Ashraf.”
Release timeline
“Khan Tumhara” is set to release on Eidul Azha in May 2026, with a soundtrack featuring Urdu, Punjabi, and Pushto songs to appeal to a wider audience.
