Security forces in Kharan district, Balochistan, successfully foiled a terrorist attack in a timely and effective operation, according to security sources.
During the initial phase of the operation, four terrorists were killed on the spot.
A few others temporarily managed to escape, but the forces pursued them and later killed them in a targeted operation.
Three key terrorists were also arrested, including one who was highly wanted.
Security sources said that a total of 38 to 40 terrorists were involved in the attack.
It includes a significant number of foreign (Afghan) militants.
Clashes and counter-terrorism operations at multiple locations resulted in approximately 12 terrorists being killed.
Five security personnel were injured during the operation, but no fatalities were reported among the forces.
Search and clearance operations are ongoing in the area and will continue until all terrorist elements are completely neutralised.
False claims of occupation
Claims circulating on social media alleging that the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has occupied Kharan city have been exposed as false and fabricated. Normal life continues uninterrupted in the area.
On-ground observations from Kharan Bazaar showed that shops opened.
The business activities were running as usual, and residents were carrying on with their daily routines without fear or disruption.
There are no signs of unrest or militant presence in the city.
Attack on Kharan police station repulsed
A police station has come under attack in Kharan, an area of Balochistan.
However, due to timely intervention by the Frontier Constabulary troops, the attack has been repulsed, and six to seven terrorists of Indian sponsored BLA have been sent to hell.
According to initial reports, 50-60 Fitana Al-Hindustan terrorists riding on motorcycles planned a coordinated attack in Kharan city.
Out of which 20-25 terrorists attacked the Kharan police station to engage the police.
Keeping in line with their cowardly acts, the Fitana Al-Hindustan terrorists went on to loot the banks.
