Khawaja Asif calls out Afghan regime’s hypocrisy

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif did not hold back and firmly called out the Afghan regime.

He said this in response to the malicious and misleading comments made by the Afghan spokesperson.

“It is the non-representative Afghan Taliban regime that suffers from deep internal factionalism, and is responsible for the continued oppression of Afghan ethnicities, women, children, and minorities, while stifling fundamental rights of expression, education, and representation”, he said in a tweet.

On his account, he said, there is “complete unanimity of views among all Pakistanis, including the country’s political and military leadership, regarding Pakistan’s security policies and its comprehensive approach toward Afghanistan.”

He also added that people of Pakistan are well aware of the treacherous and barbaric patronisation of Indian-sponsored terrorism.

No compromise will be made on Pakistan’s security, sovereignty, and national interests, says Khawaja Asif

The minister also categorically told the Afghan regime that Pakistan’s policy to protect its citizens from cross-border terrorism and the perverted ideology of Khawarij remains unified, unwavering, and firmly anchored in national interest, as well as in the pursuit of regional peace and stability.

Earlier, Pakistan and the Afghan Taliban regime agreed to uphold ceasefire following a fresh round of talks in Istanbul.

It is pertinent to mention that Pakistan has been grappling with rising terror incidents, particularly in KP and Balochistan, since the Afghan Taliban regime took power in 2021.
