Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said that former prime minister Imran Khan “brought thousands of Taliban into Pakistan and settled them,” adding that the PTI “still talks about negotiations with terrorists.”

In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), Defence minister said Pakistan’s soldiers and civilians have shed blood for years, and despite prolonged talks and delegations with the Afghan government, violence inside Pakistan has not abated.

He said funerals of Pakistan’s brave soldiers are being held daily.

Khawaja Asif further claimed Pakistan has “paid the price of hosting six million Afghan refugees for six decades with our own blood,” and declared that “the time has come for our Afghan guests to return home.”

He described continued violence and alleged shelter for perpetrators as “exploitation and ingratitude,” asking, “What kind of guests spill their hosts’ blood and protect their killers?”
