Three civilians martyred in Khawarij attack in South Waziristan

Three civilians were martyred and four others injured after Khawarij carried out a quadcopter attack on a residential area in Birmal, South Waziristan.

According to sources, the drone struck the house of a local resident identified as Muhammad Gul, resulting in the deaths of three people. Four others sustained serious injuries in the attack.

The injured, including women and children, were shifted to a nearby hospital, where they are receiving medical treatment. Authorities said the casualties also include women and children.

Officials said the attack comes amid continued security operations against Khawarij, saying that recent successes by security forces have forced the Khawarij to target innocent civilians in an attempt to spread fear and compensate for their operational setbacks.

They described the incident as another example of Khawarij targeting unarmed civilians, including women and children, calling such attacks a violation of humanitarian values and an attempt to terrorise locals.

Authorities urged residents to reject all forms of support for terrorist groups and continue cooperating with security forces to eliminate militancy and ensure the safety of civilian populations.
